About IceBAN
IceBAN is a strong, professional network of angel investors, built to clear the path for angel investment in Iceland.
By connecting investors to each other and to opportunities, we support the growth of innovation, widen the funding available to founders, and build a stronger bridge between capital and new ideas.
IceBAN works deliberately to build expertise, encourage collaboration, and create a trusted, constructive environment where new ideas can develop and thrive.
We believe in the network as a driver of investment, progress and positive social impact.

Managing director and day-to-day operations
Svava Björk is an experienced leader in Iceland's innovation ecosystem and has spent years coaching founders and advising on innovation. She is project manager for entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of Akureyri, and a founder of RATA, IceBAN and Hugmyndasmiðir.
As managing director of IceBAN she runs day-to-day operations, manages relationships with investors, organises events and training, and works to strengthen the network. Her focus is on bringing together people, ideas and capital, making sure the right opportunities reach the right members, and building a strong and trusted investor community.
IceBAN answers a real demand
Individuals with the means and the interest to back startups and innovation projects had no shared platform in Iceland. IceBAN (Icelandic Business Angel Network) was founded in May 2024 to meet that need. It is a professional network for angel investors that runs events connecting members to ventures, and builds expertise and understanding of angel investing.
All of it aimed at improving the odds of success.

What we do
The organisation's main goal is to strengthen the framework and support environment for angel investment in Iceland.
We run presentations and educational events around the country, where investors and founders can connect, share experience and create room for growth.
Our values — connection, knowledge and trust — are what make a network work. With an informed, active and close-knit angel community, we create a platform for collaboration, growth and results.
